Police tensions have been at an all out high this last year. As public outrage is being fueled by social media over people being shot by police, attacks on police officers have increased as well. Another victim of this has been lost over night.
12 year NYPD veteran Miosotis Familia was fatally shot in the head while sitting in her patrol car last night. This attack was completely unprovoked. Video contains graphic call from her partner. Scroll down for more details.

Officers quickly responded and confronted 34-year-old Thomas Bonds, who was shot dead nearby. The gun used in the attack was recovered.
Familia was rushed to a hospital but died while undergoing surgery.
The New York Post reports that Bonds had a long rap sheet, including an arrest in 2001 for beating a police officer with brass knuckles.
Familia’s partner frantically called for help after the attack, screaming, “My partner’s been shot!” repeatedly.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the NYPD and the family of the victim. We would like to further extend our thanks to all of the brave men and women that put on that uniform to help protect us each and every day.
