Washington Examiner reported:

President Trump said the U.S. is “reclaiming our heritage as a manufacturing nation” as he celebrated “Made in America Week” in his weekly address Friday.

“We believe that our country is stronger, safer, and more prosperous when we make more of our goods and our products right here in the USA. When we purchase products Made in America, the wealth, revenue, and jobs all stay in our country – to be enjoyed by our people,” in the address in which he cited eight former presidents.

We are fighting to provide a level playing field for American workers and industries. Other countries will cease taking advantage of us, believe me.”

On Monday, Trump kicked off a week aimed at promoting American manufacturing by touring an exhibition of U.S.-produced goods at the White House and previewing his administration’s plans to rework trade deals in a way that it says will favor American workers.

On Thursday, he announced a new initiative for pharmaceutical glass packaging with the CEOs of Merck, Pfizer, and Corning.

The companies are starting an advanced pharmaceutical glass packaging operation, with facilities in New York, New Jersey, and the southeastern U.S.

No longer will we allow other countries to break the rules, steal our jobs, and drain our wealth,” Trump said. “Instead, we will follow two simple but very crucial rules: We will buy American, and we will hire American.”
